Description
Promethazine Uses:
Promethazine hydrochloride injection is used for treating certain allergy symptoms such as itching, runny nose, sneezing, itchy or watery eyes, hives, and itchy skin rashes.
It is also helpful in preventing motion sickness, and treating nausea as well as vomiting or pain after surgery. It is also recommended to use as a sedative or sleep aid.
Promethazine dose:
The promethazine HCL is available in injection form that is injected intramuscularly. This drug is injected by a healthcare professional usually for two to four hours depending on the condition.
In the case of overdose condition, there are several symptoms such as weakness, overactive reflexes, weak breathing, and dilated pupils.

- Weak breathing
- Hallucinations
- Burning sensation of skin
- Swelling and numbness
- Uncontrolled muscle movements
- Jaundice
- Excess bleeding

Warnings and Precautions:
- Patients having an allergy to Phenergan inj should consult with their doctor.
- Consult with your doctor if you have any problem with asthma or chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD).
- The use of phenergan 25mg is not recommended to the patient suffering from glaucoma, seizures, weak immune system, and sulfite allergy.
- Do not take inj phenergan in case of pregnancy as it can cause harm to the fetus
- It is not recommended to breastfeed during the treatment as the drug can harm the newborn baby.
- Caution must be exercised in patients with the bladder neck or pyloro-duodenal obstruction.
- This drug should be used with caution in children older than 2 years.
- This medication should be avoided to be given to a patient who is in a coma.
- This promethazine may make you dizzy or drowsy or cause blurred vision
