What is Abiraterone Acetate and what it is used for:

Abiraterone acetate is a CYP17 inhibitor used to treat metastatic castration-resistant prostate cancer when combined with prednisone. This drug is generally recommended to the patient to receive at least one prior chemotherapy, including docetaxel. Abiraterone Acetate works by blocking the production of Testosterone and results in slowing down the spread and growth of cancerous tissue.

Abiraterone Dosage:

Abiraterone Acetate 250mg should be taken orally at about the same time each day, without food. One should not consume food two hours before the dose or one hour after the dose. Abiraterone acetate tablets should be swallowed whole with water. The tablet should not be unwrapped, smashed, or eaten.
