Tazverik Uses
Tazverik (Tazemetostat 200mg) is a methyltransferase inhibitor used for the treatment of:
- Adults and pediatric patients aged 16 years and older with metastatic or locally advanced epithelioid sarcoma not eligible for complete resection.
- Adult patients with relapsed/refractory follicular lymphoma whose tumors are positive for an EZH2 mutation as detected by an FDA-approved test and who have received at least 2 prior systemic therapies.
- Adult patients with relapsed/refractory follicular lymphoma who have no satisfactory alternative treatment options.
Dosage: The recommended dosage of Tazemetostat is 800 mg orally twice daily with or without food until the disease is progressive or unacceptable toxicity occurs. Swallow tablets whole. Do not cut, crush, or chew tablets. Do not take an additional dose if a dose is missed or vomiting occurs after Tazemetostat, but continue with the next scheduled dose.
Side Effects: The most commonly reported tazemetostat side effects (incidence ≥ 20%) in patients with epithelioid sarcoma include:
- pain
- fatigue
- nausea
- vomiting
- constipation
- decreased appetite
The most commonly reported tazemetostat side effects (incidence ≥ 20%) in patients with follicular lymphoma include:
- fatigue
- musculoskeletal pain
- nausea
- abdominal pain
- upper respiratory tract infection
Warnings and Precautions:
- Monitor patients with tazverik 200 mg tablets for long-term for the development of secondary malignancies.
- Verify the pregnancy status of females of reproductive potential prior to initiating therapy with tazverik tablets, as it can cause fetal harm if administered to pregnant women.
- Women should not breastfeed during treatment with Tazemetostat and for 1 week following the final dose. Males with female partners of reproductive age or potential to use effective contraception during treatment with tazemetostat tablets and for at least 3 months after the final dose.
- Patients receiving treatment with tazemetostat should avoid St. John’s wort, grapefruit, and grapefruit juice while on the therapy.
