What is APREZO™?
APREZO™ is indicated for the treatment of adult patients with active psoriatic arthritis. The Active Pharmaceutical present in Aprezo is Apremilast. The Innovator name of this drug is Otezla
Uses of Otezla (Apremilast):
This medication is used to treat various kinds of psoriatic arthritis as well as psoriasis arthritis. Otezla is a selective inhibitor against the phosphodiesterase-4 (PDE-4) enzyme that contains an active substance of the Apremilast. In human rheumatoid synovial cells, it inhibits a spontaneous development of TNF-Alpha. In the year 2014, this medication was approved in the United States for treating adults with active psoriatic arthritis.
Side Effects of Otezla (Apremilast):
Sometimes the use of this medication triggers a few and very rare terms in the form of the side effects. Seek immediate help to your physician. Rare signs and symptoms could appear as:
- Fatigue
- Headache
- Nausea
- Diarrhea
- Back Pain
- Vomiting
- Weight Loss
- Suicidal Thoughts
- Upper Respiratory Tract Infections
Weight Loss is common in people with Apremilast. Approximately 10% of cases have been associated with weight loss due to this medication. Diarrhea most commonly occurs in patients with this medication. The cases of such side effects are about 25%.
