Uses of medication:
Paclitaxel 100 mg injection, supplied generically under the brand PacliALL is an anti-cancer medicine used to treat certain types of cancer, including breast cancer, non-small cell lung cancer, ovarian cancer, and AIDS-related Kaposi’s sarcoma. Paclitaxel injection can be given on its own or with other cancer medicines. However, it should not be used for severe liver problems, an uncontrolled infection, or low white blood cell or platelet counts.
Paclitaxel 100 mg is not recommended for children and teenagers aged under 18 years. If you have heart problems, talk to your doctor before using this medication. It can cause serious allergic reactions, so be sure to inform your healthcare provider about any allergies you have. Additionally, it’s important to use effective birth control during treatment and for at least six months after the last dose, as the medication can harm an unborn baby. If you have alcoholism, be cautious, as this medicine contains alcohol, which might cause complications.
Dosage & Side Effects:
The recommended dosage of Paclitaxel 100 mg injection varies depending on the type of cancer being treated:- Breast Cancer: Typically, 175 mg/m² is administered intravenously over 3 hours every 3 weeks, either alone or in combination with other drugs like trastuzumab.
- Ovarian Cancer: For first-line therapy, 175 mg/m² over 3 hours every 3 weeks in combination with a platinum compound. For second-line therapy, the dosage is the same but used as monotherapy.
- Non-Small Cell Lung Cancer: The recommended dosage is 175 mg/m² over 3 hours every 3 weeks, usually with cisplatin.
- AIDS-related Kaposi’s Sarcoma: The recommended dosage is 100 mg/m² over 3 hours every 2 weeks.
