What is Exemestane?
Exemestane is the medicine that comes in the strength of 25 mg as tablets for oral administration. It is recommended for patients suffering from breast cancer.Exemestane 25 mg uses:
Exemestane is prescribed for women with past menopause to treat:
- Early breast cancer: In women with the estrogen-receptor positive breast cancer who have taken two to three years of tamoxifen and are switched to it for completion of 5 consecutive years of the adjuvant hormonal therapy.
- Advanced breast cancer: (cancer that has spread) following failed treatment with tamoxifen.
Dosage:
- The recommended exemestane dosage in early and advanced breast cancer is 25 mg (1 tablet) once daily after a meal.
- Consume Exemestane 25 mg exactly as your healthcare provider tells you, one time each day following a meal.
- Call your doctor immediately or walk out to the nearest hospital emergency room if you consume the excess dose.
Treatment Reactions: The most commonly reported exemestane side effects in females with early breast cancer may include:
- hot flashes
- feeling tired
- joint pain
- headache
- trouble sleeping
- increased sweating
The most commonly reported side effects of Aromasin in females with advanced breast cancer may include:

- increased appetite
