Carfilzomib may affect your lungs or heart. Call your healthcare provider at once if you feel wheezing, chest pain, cough with foamy mucus, shortness of breath,gasping for breath and swelling of your hands or feet.
What is Carfilzomib?
Carfilzomib Injection is a proteasome inhibitor indicated for the treatment of patients with multiple myeloma who have received at least two prior therapies including bortezomib and an immunomodulatory agent and have demonstrated disease progression on or within 60 days of completion of the last therapy.
Carfilzomib Side Effects:
Carfilzomib may cause a few most common adverse reactions including fatigue, diarrhea, anemia, pyrexia, nausea, dyspnea and thrombocytopenia.
Carfilzomib dose
The dose of Carfilzomib is recommended intravenously over 2 to 10 minutes, on a couple of consecutive days each week for 3 weeks, followed by a 12 days rest period.
One should administer this medication after the proper consent of their healthcare provider.
Precautions:
- Women of reproductive potential should avoid becoming pregnant while being treated with Carfilzomib.
- Breastfeeding may cause fetal harm to infants while on Carfilnat(carfilzomib generic brand).
- The quantity of this medication contained in one single-use vial may exceed the required dose. We need to be very watchful in calculating the quantity delivered to prevent overdosing.
Overdose condition:
In the circumstances of an overdose, there is no specific antidote. In an overdose, immediately call a poison control center or your health care team.
Missed Dose case:
If more than 4-5 hours have passed, do not take the missed dose. Take a fresh dose on the very next day.
