What is Carboplatin and what it is used for:
Carboplatin is a platinum-based antineoplastic family of medications, recommended for the treatment of:
- ovarian cancer
- lung cancer
- head and neck cancer
- brain cancer
- neuroblastoma
How Does Carboplatin Work?
It works By blocking the cell division cycle of the cancerous cell. As cancer self-lost their ability to contact inhibition so it divides rapidly. However, the main disadvantage of this medication is that it does not differentiate between a cancerous cell and normal cell; it causes damage to normal cells as well.
