What is Nintedanib, and what is it used for?
The drug Nintedanib belongs to the tyrosine inhibitor class used to treat a patient suffering from metastatic advanced or locally recurrent non-small cell lung carcinoma combined with docetaxel.
And also together with other drugs for the treatment of Idiopathic Pulmonary Fibrosis. The drug Nintedanib does not increase the survival rate in patients with idiopathic pulmonary fibrosis; rather, it is used in the proliferation differentiation and building extracellular matrix.
Recommended Dosage
Nintedanib 150 mg is available in capsule form that is consumed orally. This drug is generally taken with food with an interval of 12 hours. It is highly recommended to take this medication at the same time every day.
The doctor should advise the dosage of non-small cell lung cancer treatment medication should be advised by the doctor, do not adjust your dose without the doctor’s permission.
The capsule should be taken whole with water for better absorption and not crush or break the medicine.
Mechanism of Cyendiv
The medicine Cyendiv contains Nintedanib, a small molecule that inhibits multiple receptor tyrosine kinases and non-receptor tyrosine kinases. Nintedanib inhibits the following RTKs: platelet-derived growth factor receptor α and β, fibroblast growth factor receptor 1-3, vascular endothelial growth factor receptor 1-3, colony-stimulating factor 1 receptor, and Fms-like tyrosine kinase-3.
Side Effects
The common side-effects of Nintedanib are diarrhea, nausea, stomach pain, vomiting, liver problems, decreased appetite, headache, and weight loss.
