Uses of medication-Dulaglutide

Dulaglutide specifically is an injectable prescription medication, effective in order to improve blood sugar (glucose) in adult patients with type 2 diabetes mellitus, and should be used along with diet and exercise.

Dosage: The trulicity injection may be taken with or without food under the skin of your stomach (abdomen), thigh, or upper arm. Do not inject this drug into a muscle or vein. 

Use the injection 1 time each week on the same day at any time of the day. 

You can change the day of the week as long as your last dose was given 3 or more days before.

If you miss a trulicity dose, take the missed dose as soon as you can if there are at least 72 hours until your upcoming scheduled dose. If there are less than 3 days remaining, skip the missed dose and take your very next dose on the regularly scheduled day. Avoid taking 2 doses within 3 days of each other.

Treatment Reactions:

The most commonly reported side effects of trulicity include:

  • nausea
  • diarrhea
  • vomiting
  • indigestion
  • decreased appetite

Some serious adverse reactions include:

  • hoarseness
  • trouble swallowing
  • shortness of breath
  • lump or swelling in your neck

Warnings and Precautions:

  • TRULICITY should be used exactly as your healthcare provider has instructed you to.
  • Avoid mixing trulicity and insulin together in the same injection.
  • If you have vision problems, do not use your Syringe without help from a person trained to use the dulaglutide syringe.
  • Reusing or sharing your syringe with another person is not recommended. You can give another person an infection or may get an infection from them.
  • The dulaglutide uses are not recommended for use in patients with severe stomach or intestinal problems.
  • Use of this drug should be avoided by women who are pregnant or plan to become pregnant.
  • Inform your doctor if you become pregnant while using dulaglutide medicine.
  • It is recommended to avoid the use of Trulicity if you are breastfeeding or plan to breastfeed.
