Description
Cisatracurium Besylate injection, marketed as Cisblok, is a neuromuscular blocker used to facilitate endotracheal intubation and provide skeletal muscle relaxation during surgical procedures or mechanical ventilation. It is a non-depolarizing neuromuscular blocker that works by competitively inhibiting the action of acetylcholine at the neuromuscular junction, leading to muscle relaxation. Cisblok (Cisatracurium Besylate Injection) is typically used:
- As an adjunct to general anesthesia to facilitate tracheal intubation in adults and pediatric patients aged 1 month to 12 years.
- To provide skeletal muscle relaxation during surgery in adults and pediatric patients aged 2 to 12 years as a bolus or infusion maintenance.
- For mechanical ventilation in the ICU in adults.
