Description
Uses of medication: Osimertinib is a kinase inhibitor used for the treatment of patients with metastatic EGFR T790M mutation positive NSCLC, whose disease has progressed on or following EGFR TKI therapy.
Dosage: Always take this medication exactly as your healthcare practitioner has told you. The recommended osimertinib dose is one 80 mg tablet each day which should be taken either with or without food by mouth. Swallow the tablet whole with water. It is not recommended to crush, split or chew the tablet. Take the tablet every day at about the same time.
Treatment Reactions: The most commonly reported osimertinib side effects may include:
- Rash
- Muscle, bone, or joint pain
- Changes in your nails
- Shedding of nail
- Dry skin
- Mouth sores
- Tiredness
- Cough
- Low white blood cell counts
- Low platelet counts
- Diarrhea
- Low red blood cell counts (anemia)
- Report your healthcare practitioner in case you have any adverse reactions that bothers you or that does not go away.
