Duloxetine is supplied under the brand Duloxetine. This is a selective serotonin and norepinephrine reuptake inhibitor antidepressant (SSNRI). This therapeutic drug affects chemicals in the brain that may be unbalanced in individuals with depression. Duloxetine is used for the treatment of adults with major depressive disorder and general anxiety disorder in adults and children who are at least 7 years old. Duloxetine is also used for the treatment of adults with nerve pain caused by diabetes (diabetic neuropathy), or chronic muscle or joint pain (such as low back pain and osteoarthritis pain).
Dosage & Side Effects:
The recommended dosage of Duloxetine tablets varies based on the condition being treated. For depression and anxiety, the typical starting dose is 30 mg to 60 mg once daily, which may be increased to a maximum of 120 mg per day based on response. For neuropathic pain and fibromyalgia, the usual recommended dose is 60 mg once daily. Always follow your healthcare provider’s instructions, as dosage adjustments depend on individual needs and tolerance. Duloxetine should be taken consistently.
The most common side effects of Duloxetine 20 mg/30 mg/40 mg tablets are nausea, headache, dryness in the mouth, sleepiness, dizziness, blurred vision, decreased libido, and abnormal dreams.
