Uses of Medicine:
Lansoprazole 15 mg/30 mg capsules are primarily used to treat conditions such as gastroesophageal reflux disease (GERD), stomach ulcers, and erosive esophagitis. It works by reducing the amount of acid in the stomach, providing relief from heartburn, healing the esophagus, and preventing further damage. This therapeutic drug is also used in the treatment of Helicobacter pylori infection when combined with antibiotics, and other conditions involving excessive stomach acid such as Zollinger-Ellison syndrome.
Dosage & Side Effects:
The recommended dosage of Lansoprazole for treating gastroesophageal reflux disease (GERD) is 15 mg once daily for 8 weeks. For stomach ulcers, take Lansoprazole 30 mg once daily for 4-8 weeks. Erosive esophagitis often requires 30 mg daily for up to 8 weeks. In Helicobacter pylori infection, 30 mg twice daily, combined with antibiotics, is recommended for 10-14 days. For Zollinger-Ellison syndrome, higher doses are adjusted individually. Always consult your healthcare provider for the appropriate dosage of Lansoprazole for your condition.
