How Does Bendamustine Work?

Bendamustine fda label is a bifunctional mechlorethamine derivative containing a purine-like benzimidazole ring. Mechlorethamine as well as its derivatives form the electrophilic alkyl groups. These groups are involved in forming covalent bonds with the electron-rich nucleophilic moieties, resulting in interstrand DNA crosslinks. Bifunctional covalent linkage may lead to the cell death through several pathways. Bendamustine is active against the quiescent as well as dividing cells.
